can dell window vista be installed on a compaq desktop
I have recently bought a dell computer and the dell window vista softrware and I would like to replace the XPprogram on my other computer, which is a Compaq desktop. Can this be done? rt

You mentioned that you bought the Dell & the Dell came pre-installed with Windows Vista, correct? If that is the case you're allowed one device to be installed with the Vista OS, & no other devices may use that copy of the software (license). http://www.microsoft.com/About/Legal/EN/US/IntellectualProperty/UseTerms/Default.aspx

Hi, Thank you for your post! In addition, if you would like to install Windows Vista using Dell disk on the compaq desktop, some devices may not funtion fully. And you also need to de-active the Dell Windows Vista before installing it on the desktop.
