There's no way to have your computer stay connected while it's asleep. It can't do anything while it's asleep, so it can't continue sending the keep-alive packets required to maintain a connection. You must give the PC a little time to recover its prior state when it wakes. This is even truer when it hibernates. The power is turned off during hibernation. There's no way a computer can do anything with its power off.Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]------------------------------If a reply helps, please vote it as helpful. There are two "connections" to worry about. The connection to your ISP (cable company) is controlled by your router. Most home routers should have a "keep alive" option. See your router's User Guide (or identify its make and model). The second connection is the wireless connection between your computer and your router. The connection to your router should be established in a few seconds (not 2 minutes) after your computer comes out of sleep/hibernation. If it isn't, try right-clicking on the icon for your wireless adapter and look for a Power Management feature to "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and disable that feature. Also, make sure that you have the latest driver for your adapter.

HiWin XP Network card can be configure to react to Network traffic so it can start relaively fast. The problem is that many old motherboards do not support this function well that why it takes sometime to fully Wake.If you have a Win XP on a relatively new Computer (motherboards above P-4) it should work OK.
