Hi, You may create a new user account to check the issue. If it does not work, you may also try to delete the Group Policy Registry keys to check the issue. Delete All Group Policy Registry keys ======================== 1. Click Start, type regedit.exe (without quotation marks) into Start Search box and press Enter. 2. Locate the following key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft] Right click on "Microsoft", click "Export"; please name the file as "RegBackup" (without quotation marks) and then save it to the C:\ drive as a backup. Note: In case we need to undo the modification, we can double click this RegBackup.reg file to restore the registry key. 3. Highlight Microsoft and click "Delete". 4. Please repeat the above steps for the following registry keys. [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft] [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Group Policy Objects] [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies Note: if some keys do not exist, please ignore them. 3. Exit the Registry Editor. If the issue persists, would you please upload the following information to SkyDrive and provide us the link for analyzing? Screenshot of the symptom ======================== 1. Press the Print Screen key (PrtScn) on your keyboard. 2. Click the "Start" menu, type "mspaint" in the Search Bar and Press Enter. 3. In the Paint program, click the "Edit" menu, click "Paste", click the "File" menu, and click "Save". 4. The "Save As" dialogue box will appear. Type a file name in the "File name:" box, for example: "screenshot". 5. Make sure "JPEG (*.JPG;*.JPEG;*.JPE;*.JFIF)" is selected in the "Save as type" box, click Desktop on the left pane and then click "Save". Please send this saved JPEG file to us. System Information ======================== 1. Click Start, type in msinfo32 (without quotation marks) in the Search bar and then press Enter. 2. Choose Save from the File menu and save it as an NFO file. 3. Find the file, right-click on this file, click "Send To", and click "Compressed (zipped) Folder". 4. Send the compressed file to us. Neither solutions suggested by Arthur_Li worked for me. Please, how can I solve this issue? I've tried to create a new library using a new user account but it failed too.. Thanx in advanced.

as i wrote, step 4 worked for me. however, in order to make a new library prior to that i simply copied and pasted an existing library and renamed it, and then added the necessary folders. that said, i still haven't got 'recent docs' working, and that's after 2 clean installs.....

reinstall (stuffed hd.....) and back to the same problem. AND, my other problem has re-emerged NO 'recent documents'....
