Your system probably has malicious software on it.The malicious software knows that when you have some issue, you are most likely going to use Google to try to find some answer to what to do about it, so it will do things to prevent you from getting to Google. It can also block your access to other sites where it knows there are tools that can find and remove it.The malicious software will be happiest if you give up on removing it and reinstall XP.
