Your system probably has malicious software on it.The malicious software knows that when you have some issue, you are most likely going to use Google to try to find some answer to what to do about it, so it will do things to prevent you from getting to Google. It can also block your access to other sites where it knows there are tools that can find and remove it.The malicious software will be happiest if you give up on removing it and reinstall XP. That will make it happy, that is what it likes to make you do.If you can connect to other sites, you can be pretty sure your Internet connection is working and there is no need to "try" things that might work maybe. You should first run some good scans for malicious software and see if that will correct the problem and then troubleshoot any remaining issues:Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:Malwarebytes (MBAM): http://malwarebytes.org/SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/They can be uninstalled later if desired. After running the scans, be sure to reboot and then test. Please vote my posts as helpful so I can get lots of points. I am saving up for a pony!
