can't browse the internet but im conected to my router - connection sometimes drops
Hi all, ive purchased windows 7 professional 64bit, the first 2 days it worked without a single problem, after updating my LAN drivers from windows update i probably didnt notice it much but the network problems started (since then i updated few more drivers: one from my Motherboard site and the other from reltek which was the latest drivers). The problem is that i have 3 computers connected to my router, the other 2 computers are working fine but my win7 causing an issue, sometimes the connection just stops and i cant browse and sometimes even the small yellow icon at the down right side of my screwn which show that im not connected to the internet.Sometimes the connection drops every few minutes and sometimes for an hour or more. The only logical solution is to return to the original drivers (the ones which were intalled duing the win7 installation) but i dont know how to do that.I tried to uninstall my network drivers but win7 auto detect it and re-install the bad driver.Unless you have other solution for me or need any more info...I really need the help.Thanks.

Go to control pan and select device manager and find your adapture in the list. Expand the list and right click on the adapture and select properties and then the driver tab. Select roll back driver.

i updated the driver twice (different driver version) if i roll back it will just go to the previous version which still had this problem. When i tried to do a roll back to the previous drivers (before ive updated the latest ones) the roll back button was grayed out, so no matter what it didnt gave me the option to go back to the orginal drivers (the ones that cam with the win7 installation disc).

I have gigabyte mobo: GA-EX58-UD5 so its an onboard network, by the Device manager its: Realtek RTL8168D/8111D Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20) and Realtek RTL8168D/8111D Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20) #2 Ive already tried to unbind IPv6 (also tried just to leave IPv4 alone.... doesn't work). Not sure how to check the firmware for my onboard network.

Hi, Based on my research, I would like to suggest the following: 1. Please try this method: Tips for fixing common driver problems 2. Update the router’s firmware. 3. Boot the computer to Safe Mode with networking and keep monitoring to see if the issue persists. 4. Since it worked previously, please try to run System Restore and get back to the previous status when the issue didn’t occur. Hope this helps. Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT

Ok, ive tried to connect my cable modem directly to my computer and there is no network problem what so ever. My router is Edimax BR-6104K, this is an old router that is no longer supported by Edimax, i have its latest firmware, any ideas?

Hi, Thank you for your update. Since it works when connecting to your modem directly, I suspect this issue is related to your router. Please double-check its settings or reconfigure the router to see if it works. If possible, you can also try another router. Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT
