bug in Network location ?
Hi all,i'm running into this bug with win7b1 and network location: i have a linux box running samba server and there are several shared directory. I want to add them to network location and I usethe wizard to add a path like this:\\server\share\folderWizard completes succesfully and i can open the share; i then right click on the new network location and rename it to "mySharedFolder". I double click it to open and get the following error: \\server\share\mySharedFolder refers to a location that is unavailable...If I check network location properties, they are still correct and point to the right address "\\server\share\folder", but it looks like renaming the location somehow change the address windows tries to open...Is it a known bug ?thanksbye

You may need to run thesmbpasswd -a root command again, then go to /etc/samba and edit the smb.conf fileto verify that the netbios name has not been changed. I'vebeen able to get mine to stay active (RHEL 5.3) by narrowing down the smb.conf file to only the items needed and creating a folder called "share" in the root directory. I don't know WHYthat worked, but it did and I'm not gonna complain. lol
