Running windows xp sp3 computer has been running fine and has alot of data on it that is valuable to me and my time has showed some slowing but nothing that would predict some ensuing failure ran norton today and came up with a few spyware items after this I needed to restart computer later in the day to logon another user and computer locked after this I get data read error press ctrl/alt/del I cant get to hard drive data, i cant even boot off a cd I ran all the preboot tests 1 and zeros ... comes back good but still data read error throw in windows cd and pc wont boot from cd, not even let me run diagnostics that normally start anyways what is the next step, can i recover my data without spending a small fortune??
