boot-start or syste-start problem
Hi, I have a laptop running on Windows 7 32bits. Recently, I have got some errors when I went into the event viewer. Source: Service Control Manager Event ID: 7026 The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: mfehidk I wonder if there is a workaround for this error. Thank you

Update your McAfee software to a more recent version or contact McAfee support.

Thank you for your reply. No, I do not have any McAfee installed on my laptop. When I bought the laptop, it came with McAfee but I went to un-install it from the Program and Features under Control Panel. Therefore, I do not have it anymore on the system. I double-checked it again by looking it up in the program and features list but found none that mentioned McAfee. I wonder where else to look to make sure it's been removed completely. Thank you in advance

Check if you have C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\mfehidk.sys It seems mfehidk is related with McAfee. Did you fully scan your computer? Download and run MCPR (McAfee Customer Products Removal tool) http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe This will remove any remaining traces of McAfee left over from the uninstall.Hammer842

Thanks Miya for your reply. I agreed. It might be the McAfee. I remember clearly I had un-installed it when I bought my laptop. Anyway, I have searched for McAfee on the list under Programs and Features but to no avail. I do not know what else to use to scan my computer thoroughly. Thank you

Thanks Hammer842 for your reply. Have installed the MCPR and will let you know how it goes for the next few days to see if I still receive the error messages. Thank you
