Hi,I would suggest you to follow these steps and check if it helps:Method 1:Try booting the computer in safe mode and check if the same issue occurs:http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=trueMethod 2:a. Right-click on an empty area of your desktop.b. Select "Arrange icons by" and uncheck 'Lock web items on desktop" if it has a little check mark next to it.c. If you dont have a check mark there, then right-click on your "My Computer" icon and choose "properties", then click the "Advanced" tab and then on the "Settings" button under "Performance". d. On the "Visual Effects" tab, scroll down the list of effects to "use drop shadows for icon labels on desktop" and click the checkbox the box next to it, then click "ok".Check if this helps.Azam – Microsoft Support.Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and, if you have any feedback you can post here.
