HI there i have a sony vaio notebook n have windows 7 home basic installed in it i am getting a blue screen error with a hexadecimal address of 0x00000001E on boot,i get options to boot n have tried 'start windows normally' but its of no use.have also tried safe mode again the same result it goes from dos mode to windows welcome page to blue screen error and it goes on and an plz explain? has the OS crashed,the ram failed or a virus infection?

Thanks for the reply. However,the OS hangs on the welcome page itself and again goes back to the mode of booting option. Hey,I forgot to add on a thing. After the hexadecimal error,it also gives the message as:'dumping physical memory to disk' Does this error give a clearer picture about what the problem might be?
