I understand you want to block access to a certain website? Windows 7 does not have tools for this on board. usually such thing is implemented by a filtering proxy or alike. However if you know what happens when requesting a website, you can "criple" it very easy: -you could ad a line in the hostsfile (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc751132.aspx )or configure a dns record (need access to your dns server), pointing the dns domain name to a wrong ip. -you could configure a firewall (even windows firewall or your router) to block traffic to and from the ip's of the website. use nslookup to determine all ip's dns returns for a given domain name. if you need other service s for the same domain, you could consider to block only traffic on port 80 and 443 (http and https) I think these 'solutions' are fine on a very small environment, with only very few client computers, but very difficult to manage and maintain in lager environments. so you should plan and consider first!MCP/MCSA/MCTS/MCITP

I don't know what level you want to do this at. You can 'restrict' a website in internet explorer by opening internet explorer's settings (either tools>internet options or control panel>internet options) and then going to the security tab and adding the site to 'Restricted Sites' but you may be looking for something else? ...

Unfortunately, restricted sites, still allows you to browse to the site. It only configures security settings to lower the risks of browsing to the site. Some sites will stop working properly because of the settings not allowing scripts etc, but I do not think this is a reliable way of "blocking" websites.MCP/MCSA/MCTS/MCITP

I completely agree I just took an assuming suspicion that this might of been what Pelosi was looking for rather than something more technical but in hindsight, fair do's.
