black screen local but computers works normally remotely
HelloNo idea if my specific problem fits in this forum but it's the most relevant.I have a problem on a lot of computers in my company. Symptoms:- All Windows XP SP3- The computer screen goes black, seemingly on standby. Nothing the user will do can revive the computer. The only thing that will revive the computer is hard reset it. Then you again have a display until the phenomenom repeats itself.- When this happens, the computer is still pingable, shows up on the network, you can mount drives on the remote computer, start an RDP-session, ... The computer just is completely inactive locally- This all happens on completely randomly time intervals. The only thing I have noticed that is a constant on the various computers who show this behavior is a DCOM error (10016) in the SYSTEM eventlog 10 where it complains that it doesn't have access to launch {0C0A3666-30C9-11D0-8F20-00805F2CD064} (Machine Debug Manager) via a specific user. This can be a domain user or NT AUTHORITY. It depends who is logged on at that moment. There are more CLSID's which it complains about on various computers but the one I linked is mentioned the most. That specific service is started though and is set to start automatically.I have no idea if this has anything to do with it.Any ideas?1 person needs an answerI do too
