bitlocker
thank you for you time and effort i encrypted my iomega 500gb external hdd with bitlocker and it was working fine; however couple of days ago i unencrypted the whole drive with intention to housekeep pc and hdd, and then when i tried to encrypt the hdd again it got stuck at 90something percent; thereafter the drive is not recognising the password i use! and to put salt on wound, of course the recovery key is lost!!! pls help; all documents etc are on that hdd and i cannot recover from anywhere else thank you ps : if proof that the hdd is mine is needed for you to help recover the hdd then i can provide purchase slip! thank you again

thank you very much for your help thus far, but unfortunately it doesn't help as my iomega drive stuck at just over 90percent decrypting action. When i tried to restart the process it started querying for the password, which password doesn't work anymore and well i dont have the recovery key as i have already formatted the physical harddrive sometime back to reinstall win 7; any possibility of recovering my external drive data ??? thank you again balakrishnan

With no key and password, you are pretty much out of luck, thus the functionality of bitlocker is working to prevent unauthroized entry to a drive with no key or password. Reformat the drive, and move on.:P Advice offered, If you need more help it is advised to seek the council and advice of paid professionals. The answer is always 42, or reboot.
