backup error in win7 0x80070424
I keep recieveing this error when i try to setup backup in WIN7, it says it is not an installed service! 0x80070424

I was searching for error codes and found quite a few descriptions of this for windows update but no mention of this error code associated with windows backup.

Thank you sir, However, what i ended up doing is an "in-place" upgrade with my install disk, and wow, it worked great! fixed it right up!

Import this fix to registry http://www.vistax64.com/attachments/windows-updates/15639d1252915904-windows-vista-ultimate-backup-computer-help-wbengine.zip + restart

I have found that If you are using System Machanic V9 and you select to fix registry errors, this will give you backup error 0x80070424. It appears to remove "wbengine" from the registry.

Cleaners tools usualy create registry backups - restore registry from backup or just import fix to registry (in my previous post) +restart

I can confirm that the latest System Manager Pro v9.5.1 Dated 4th Dec has now solved the problem of removing the "wbengine" from the registry. Thanks to all concerned. Dexter (merry Christmas)
