Although you didn't state what your operating system is, it sounds like you have Windows XP Home. Although you could certainly follow KM JHA's instructions (asuming you have the correct Dell XP CD!), I think you would bemuch better off using a better program. With Windows XP Home, the ntbackup program is quite limited. You will be much better off with an imaging program like Acronis True Image Home or Paragon Drive Backup.Regarding the CD, you really should obtain one; they are very useful! If Dell didn't provide you with one or if they did and you lost it, contact them; they might very well send you a replacement.

It seems to be a fact that many folks cannot find, never received or have never even seen a genuine Windows XP installation CD.If you need to download the ntbackup.msi file, here is the URL you can copy/paste in your browser Address window and download the file:http://www.winxptutor.com/ntbackup.msiDo, or do not. There is no try.I need YOUR votes and points for helpful replies and Propose as Answers. I am saving up for a pony!
