automatic application crash dump generation
In windows xp you could use dr watson or userdump.
How do you automatically generate application (NOT OS / BSOD) crash dumps?

You can use the context menu for a process in task manager (in the
processes tab) and click "Create Dump File"
I usually use process explorer,
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx
and right click the process and select "Create Dump"
