auto wallpaper change for different resolution
Hi, I have a tricky one here is there any way to set windows to use different wallpapers based on different resolution ratio? the wallpaper are actually the same but have been modified and resize to different ratio: 4x3, 3x4, 16x10 and 10x16. so circle is a circle note i'm talking about the default user background, not the login background. and i managed to set the default wallpaper to all user thanks

Hi, Thanks for the post! There’s an easy way to achieve this performance, you need to make sure the picture is big enough and choose “Fill” in “Picture Position”. Here’s an example of the desktop, the resolution is different, but the picture is the same. Hope it helps! I think he means, he wants to assign certain images as wall papers according to screen resolution. so that if he changes the screen resolution, it will automatically change the wallpaper image. Am I right bostos? Is this possible Yao? and would you tell us how? :)CESabarre Free Tech Support Bad News: There really is no such thing as Free Tech Support. that's correct Cesabarre, say i have 4 images with 4 different aspect ratio : 4x3, 3x4, 16x10 and 10x16 can use the same one for 4x3 and 16x10, but not 4x3 and 10x16 simply it will look really bad

I have the same requirement. We are deploying Windows 7 Enterprise using zero-touch where possible. This means that a single image will be used across multiple default resolutions: Desktops with 22" 1900x1600 Desktops with 19" 1280x1024 Laptops with 1440x768 Thin Clients with any of the above. The corporate background features text and when it is adjusted to fit the text looks terrible for the non-native resolution. If we try to use an image that can be set to 'fit' we loose some of the edge images. We know that we can change the login background by presenting multiple sized images and want to do the same for the users desktop. Any ideas / scripts would be handy. Thanks, Nathan Currie

Miya Yao was on to something, I think. Make your image for the largest possible resolution, but make sure the text is within an area that would still be seen on the smallest possible resolution. When you use the "fill" position layout, the image will not be stretched or skewed, but if the current resolution is smaller than the image, the excess will simply be beyond the border of the display. If this was helpful, please vote by clicking the green triangle. If it solves the issue, click Propose as Answer. Thanks!

Why won't using a large file work? Then you only have one to update that works for everyone, regardless of screensize, shape, resolution, DPI, rotational modifications and more. I'm not saying scripts won't work -- it's a very good solution, but this is how we did it when we deployed Windows 7 where I work, although I'm sure it was primarily to cut down on time to deploy and negate any future need to create new artwork. In this type of setup, images never skew or become out of proportion, although the "apparent" size of the artwork is larger on a smaller screen, because of the resolution of the monitor. But then again, everything else has apparent larger sizes (folders, cursors, icons), so it's fine for us. If this was helpful, please vote by clicking the green triangle.
