audio and video call

Dear All,

We have setup lync 2013 and we are facing very strange issue. When we login into your computer using test1@domain.com user on our LAN and someone else on another computer signs in on the same LAN using test2@domain.com if you call each other it works using lync client.. however if test1@domain.com is signed in on a different network like from home or a different office or different lan with different public ip address, they sign in OK IM and file transfer works but the calls do not.

Hi, what is the topology of your Lync deployment?

This ports are needed for Lync https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398798.aspx

For voice you need TCP 443 UDP 3478 TCP 5061 on Edge server.

Hi,

For the A/V call issue with external users,

If your requirements are for destination ports only, the Audio/Video requirements are:

Source IP

Destination IP

Destination Port

A/V Edge service interface

Any

TCP 443

A/V Edge service interface

Any

UDP 3478

Any

A/V Edge service interface

TCP 443

Any

A/V Edge service interface

UDP 3478

If your policies require both inbound and outbound firewall rule definitions, the Audio/Video requirements are:

Source IP

Destination IP

Source Port

Destination Port

A/V Edge service interface

Any

TCP 50,000-59,999

TCP 443

A/V Edge service interface

Any

UDP 3478

UDP 3478

Thanks for all,

Acutally do you think it could be firewall issue as We never have problems making voice calls using different devices as long as these devices are on the same physical (local) network. if physical network for end user changes then he would not be able to make audio or vidoe calls. Do we require to setup reverse proxy. We have not setup reverse proxy for this.

No, for audio you don't need RP. Check your Edge configuration. When clients are on same network they don't use edge, but on different networks they do.
