ati radeon drivers
Hi I've Had a strange, yet puzzling install for my ati radeon hd2600pro pcie!I went to amd's website as they now have a link to ati to download the drivers for windows 7 64 bit, when the driver page loaded up i noticed that there was 2 9.5 catalist suites for windows 7 64bit. One file size said 62.4MB & the other one was 98.7MB! Underneath the download button for the larger file it says 'WINDOWS7 WHQL DRIVER' so of course i downloaded this one. Upon installation a warning came up to say that the driver was not digataly signed by microsoft !!! & did i want to continue installing, so i clicked on yes. When the catalyst control centre launched i noticed that it had 2 tabs, one for graphics and one for HYDROVISION. I've had no problems with this driver, so out of curiosity i uninstalled it, went back to the graphics suite download page. & downloaded the smaller file. upon installing this one i got no warning. When the catalyst control suite launched there was no tab for hydrovision!!!! (curiouse)!!! So has amd got it wrong ? Or are both drivers digitaly signed by microsoft ? I've had no probs with either driver being installed.

Maybe your question would be better asked on theATI Catalyst forum.

When it comes to ATI Catylist, I've found that the best thing to do is to only install the driver and uncheck the Control Center and any other applications in the suite because they have always had bugs and conflicts. Also, I don't think digital signing is yet applicable for Windows 7 as it is still in testing.
