advapi32.dll entry-point DllRegisterService was not found. Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-EventTrac ing/Admin Event ID: 2 error: 0xC0000022
When I open as administrator a command prompt window and enter the follow: regsvr32 advapi32.dll
I get the following message:
RegSvr32
The module "advapi32.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DllRegisterService was not found.
Make sure that "advapi32.dll" is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again.
This I believe is related to the event log error I've been having each time my computer is reboot:
Log Name: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-EventTracing/Admin
Source: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-EventTracing
Event ID: 2
Task Category: Session
Level: Error
Keywords: Session
User: LOCAL SERVICE
Description:
Session "" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000022
Guid="{B675EC37-BDB6-4648-BC92-F3FDC74D3CA2}"
EventRecordID = 149
Execution ProcessID="1916" ThreadID="3512"
ErrorCode: 3221225506
LoggingMode: 268443650
I went into the regedit and found that Guid="{B675EC37-BDB6-4648-BC92-F3FDC74D3CA2}" is:
Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-EventTracing
%SystemRoot%\system32\advapi32.dll
I went to the file and looked at the properties:
Description: Advanced Windows 32 Base API
I ran sfc /scannow and it reported no errors.
Anyone know what the issue is? I ran Malwarebytes & AVG anti-virus scans and both came up clean.

Hi,
I would like to verify why you want to register this advapi32.dll.
I have tried to register advapi32.dll on my test machine, same error with you. That DLL is a regular one, not an ActiveX dll. So you can't register it. It simply exports functionsNiki Han
