Hi, i am having problems with the installation of adobe professional 8 & itunes 8.2. Both installers go fine untill the end where they want to create shortcuts. Adobe says it can't create the shortcuts and then gives error 1317; "an error occured while attempting to create the directory C:\programdata\microsoft\windows\startmenu\programs\startup". I have tried running in compatibility mode & administrator; but this makes no difference.I previously installed both programs without a problem on this same windows installation (but removed them afterwards); but am not able to install them anymore now.

I had some problems with itunes install. I had downloaded the install to a downloads folder that was on the desktop. This resulted in the file having a very long filepath e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\me\Desktop\etc which just confused the installer. Saving the installer to a short path e.g. c:\itunes\etc fixed the issue and Itunes has installed fine for me both on the Beta and the RC.

Paul, Did you install Windows 7 over an older version of Windows? That sounds like a very strange filepath that the installers are trying to place shortcuts in - you may need to back up your data and perform a clean install of Windows 7 if this is the case, as you'll likely encounter more problems down the road.-Alex
