I calleed U-Verse and they told me the problem is with computer and Windows not with the U-Verse Network. I'm not a geek and I don't know what to do, especialy now _ Windows Live will not work anymore and I can't load new free antivirus program- administrator problem! Should I buy Apple computer????? Are you running WinXP SP2 or SP3? What anti-virus application or security suite is currently installed and is your subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)? What third-party firewall (if any)? Has a(another) Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on the computer (e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought it)?~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) ~ MS MVP (IE, Mail, Security, Windows & Update Services) since 2002 ~ Disclaimer: MS MVPs neither represent nor work for Microsoft

I am not quite sure that I understand your problem, but I'm guessing that your issue is that you were using Windows Live OneCare and now wish to use Microsoft Security Essentials, but are encountering a problem. I don't know what "administrator problem" you are having, but you must have adminstrative rights for your Windows login ID to uninstall OneCare and to install MSE. Make sure that your login UserID has administrator rights. Download, save, and run the OneCare cleanup tool. http://social.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/onecareinstallandactivate/thread/399071e2-49dc-4767-932d-d261e3965943/ Make sure that no other security software is installed. Install from the official MSE download page. If that fails to work, please open a support case. I have my Windows Live One Care in red for few days. The window tells me :no more renewals. I have onlt 27 days to go. I had few wiruses lately-- never had before the Windows Live in red- I did run anti wirus in Windows Live full scan - latest wirus was "Trojan Win32/fakeMS. I'm running scan now as I'm writing. I can't make any changes in my computer- this is my biggest problem. I'm the only person running this home computer. The start looks not the same as before- I have to sign in OK. Computer Sony Vaio, Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 service Pack 3 In user Profiles -nothing, empty. Network ID -in gray, to rename this computer- in gray in user accounts my name as a guest???? do I have a chance to clean this mess or just to buy a new machine? I kind of start to don't like Windows..... So I'm afraid to uninstal Windows Live if I can't be administrator. Thanks for any help- Happy Easter Bon
