administrator password troubles
Hello,I'm having a problem with the administrator account on my Vista Home Basic laptop. I just enabled the administrator account, along with a guest account and a standard user account. I left the admin account and the guest account password-less and set up a password for the standard user account. The problem is that now, if say I want to run some program as administrator, I'm requested to type a password. If I don't type anything (since I set up no password), I'm denied access. Of course this doesn't happed with the Guest account. What can I do? I really need full access to my computer sometimes so please help!!

Hi Morgan, if you forgot the administrator password, you may need to contact with our customer service via the following link: https://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?iid=26&iguid=08215b38-d2aa-4fb1-b24a-377ca7fc2fd0_1_1&ln=en-us&prid=10295&gprid=436647 If you recall the administrator password and want to disable the notification of entering password, you can disable UAC via the following steps: 1. Click Start, go to Control Panel. 2. Click "Classic View" on the left panel. 3. Double click on User Accounts. 4. Click Turn User Account Control on or off. 5. Uncheck the option and press OK. Hope this helps!Sean Zhu - MSFT
