adding Port exceptions in Windows 7
i have installed tight vnc and would like to create an port exception, but the only place available to do that is in the filewall settings in the "allowed programs" by clicking the change settings button.the problem is, it is constantly grayed out and will not allow me to click on it.any suggestions. i am logged in as local admin and the machine is bound to AD

even though i was unable to add a port exception, i am still able to remote connect from ARD to the computer. i have added VNC as one of the allowed programs.i'd still like to know how to open a port for future reference.anyway, i'm good for now.adios!

Hi,Go to Windows firewall and select advanced settings, Then select inbound rules. In the left column select "new rule". Then select port and provide the information for the port.
