ad hoc ICS
Hi, I have TP-LINK TD-8811 External ADSL2+ Router (1 port) without wireless My first laptop is connected to modem via a cable and then connect to the internet. I have another laptop(second laptop). Can I connect with second laptop to the internet via wireless, from the way of (ad hoc (computer to computer)) ? HOW? where I should make ad hoc (in first laptop or second). HOW should I configure the IP address of both laptops and modem? Sincerely,

HOW? I Set up an ad hoc (computer-to-computer) network in first labtop? should I set up ad hoc in XP client too? HOW should I configure the IP address of both laptops and modem? although I configure IP address and enable ICS but the second computer cannot connect to internet!!maybe I configure IP wrong!! You need to enable Internet Connection Sharing on Win7 laptop, after that set up ad-hoc connection with XP laptop to share Internet connection. If you want to know more, check out this Internet Connection Sharing tutorial. Hope this helps.

Look at using either Virtual Router or Connectify to turn your WiFi equiped Windows 7 laptop into a wireless router/hotspot so your other clients can access the internet. http://virtualrouter.codeplex.com/ http://www.connectify.me/ Check the hardware compatibility lists. Also be aware the clients must support WPA2. That can not be changed. The best solution, IMHO, is to purchase a wireless router if its in your budget...MS-MVP Windows Expert - Consumer "When all else fails read the instructions..."
