acctinfo.dll on x64 Windows 7
It appears that this dll which is needed for viewing useful properties of Active Directory users is not supported under any x64 versions of Windows. Has anyone found an easy workaround? Specifically, I need to be able to see last logon time. Having to maintain another machine, as a 32bit Windows, and remote into it to do basic admin functions is very frustrating. Thanks for any help. BTW, I have seen one forum suggesting that Users & Computers be run in 32-bit mode, using "dsa.msc -32", to allow use of the acctinfo.dll. However, this doesn't seem to work. I get "This appication has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way." and ADUC doesn't open.

Hi, Would the Remote Server Admin Pack for 64bit be of any help, see link below.http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=7d2f6ad7-656b-4313-a005-4e344e43997dSlan go foill, Paul

Thanks, but I am running those 64bit tools. They don't include, by default, the tab that allows you to see last login time for the user. In 32-bit versions of Windows, you can extend the tools with the acctinfo.dll file, to allow you to see these properties. I am rather new to scripting, and I wouldn't know where to start with trying to calculate this value myself. I believe the documentation says that it is counted as the number of seconds since some date in like the 1970s. It appears difficult to try to do this calculation yourself.

It is not a scripting question. As I said, the acctinfo.dll file doesn't function for x64 Windows 7. I was simply referencing the fact that it is possible to derive the value oneself, were one able to. As I said, I am not able to, so I'd like to continue using the tool that MS has made available to the community under 32 bit Windows. thanks
