Yes, it's OK. Monitors are interchangeable between computers and brands.Boulder Computer MavenMicrosoft Most Valuable Professional

See Steve Winograd's answer, but just let me add a clarification toyour message above: Undoubtedly, you are planning on buying a new *computer*, not a newCPU. "CPU" stands for "Central Processing Unit." In modern personalcomputers, the CPU is a relatively small electronic chip, anintegrated circuit. It sits on the motherboard, inside the computer'scase. It is not the case itself, nor is it the total computer, whichincludes the case and everything within it. I'm not sure how the incorrect practice began of calling the wholecomputer the "CPU," but here's my guess: when you buy a computer, younormally get the case and what's in it, along with a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and perhaps a printer. All of these peripheralsconnect to the case. Because everything connects to the case, the caseis "central" to everything else and the term "Central Processing Unit"is sometimes misunderstood and misapplied to it. Ken Blake (MS MVP)

Good explanation, Ken. To OP: If you want to use an abbreviation, use PC for Personal Computer.
