I do not get an error every time. Sometimes the outlook works fine. Yesterday, after spending 3 hours on the phone with a comcast tech support guy , with no benefit, and my email working fine; then I restarted my computer and i could not delete any mail messages. My 'deletet file" would not open and said 's ystem error: file cannot be opened'. when i open the sent folder , the blue bar at the bottom of the screen runs from left to right indication it is loading the info into the sent folder. I assume the computer is loading the info from the external WD hard drive. When I get a MS looking error message I cannot 'copy and paste' it as you suggested. when I right click , nothing happens to allow me to copy the error message, forcing me to copy down the info.Lately I have discovered that some of my emails (not all) are NOT getting to the recipient. One was from a friend in the Pentagon. He sent me and a friend an email. My response did not get to him, but my buddies response to all of us did contain my response. I tried his home email and it did not get to him, as verified via phone call. Then I sent my primary care doc an email. After no response I responded to my original emai to all and still no response. I called the clinic and spoke to his case manager who took care of my problem and notifed my doc. He called me and said he had not received either email. Then later I got an email from a friend requesting some info. I responded. Later the next day I ran into a mutual friend and inquired if my response was of benefit. He said she had not received my response to her eamil. All these email addresses were in my address book, except the Pentagon friends home email. comcast was no help and directed me to the MS folks.any help is appreciated.

ms tech support told me the error was because my 'deleted items' file was too full. they advised i delete my 'deleted file'... that helped. after a second call to ms tech support i was told then I also needed to delete my sent file since itwas too big also. for the last week or so that seems to have resolved the problems. got my fingers crossed.thanks for your help

If you had posted the error message and asked in the correct forum as I suggested, you wouldn't have needed MS Tech Support. However, you're welcome and hopefully the issue is resolved. Bruce Hagen MS-MVP [Mail]
