____! hit error code 0x8007045d!
Hi, I hit the error code 0x8007045d "The request could not be performed because of an i/o device error" when trying to copy or run some files. Here are my cases: 1. It happens to a few downloaded files, some of them are small files(<100MB), one of them are big file(>4GB) 2. It happens when I run that file or to copy it from internal drive to internal drive, or from internal drive to external drive. 3. for small files, i deleted them and re-download, the error msg gone and it's working. 4. for big files, i don't wan't to re-download it before i can find any solution here. I spend hours online searching for the solution but end up w nothing. There might be few possibilities: 1. The file is corrupted during downloading, since I use P2P software. If that's the case, is there anyway to recover it other than delete it? 2. There are bad sectors on my harddisk and the file falls on it. I did the hard disk check and it found nothing wrong. 3. The hard disk is physically damaged. the worst case, but very unlikely since The whole parts are news. My PC: 64 bit running win7, 500GB WD harddrive.

The disc you are using should be fine but set the speed to 8x since that is what your drive is for. Typically you will recieve an error or the disc will be blank if you are having issues with a disc. The brand of the disc may be incompatible with the burner. Try a different brand of media. The disc may be defective. Try another disc. The burner may have malfunctioned. For troubleshooting information, see the documentation that was included with the burner. The burner or the disc may not support the speed that you used to burn the disk. Try using a slower speed. When you try to perform a full backup on a Windows Vista-based computer, you may receive the following error messages before the backup of the first drive is complete: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error (0x8007045D) Please rerun backup once issue is resolved. Attatched is the link for correcting this issue and other troubleshooting if you encounter any other problems. Please run chkdsk /r in cmd window with administrator privilege and then restart to check disk logical failures. If the issue still occurs, please temporary disable antivirus and check the result. If the above suggestions do not help, I suggest you boot in Safe Mode, and clear the temp folder. Delete every files that can be deleted. C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\TempPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
