__ Windows Logon Problem
Gina Logon: winLogon.exe application error at 0X17e8884 referenced at 0X74726C88 memory could not be read. Whether I click OK or Cancel, the machine restarts over and over again until I click the F8 key and choose one of the options there. I have run RegCure, CCcleaner, MalwareBytes anti viurs, Avira anti virus, browsed the Internet looking for a remedy besides doing a System Recovery. The System Restore does not work on my machine. The Virtumonde virus was found by Spybot about 3 months ago and I thought it got rid of it. I have run the tools that are available just to be sure and nothng was found. So, is this a problem with not enough memory or is it something else? There is about 900 mbs of memory on this machine. I'm using Windows XP. Thanks.1 person got this answerI do too

If it was ever possible to salvage this Windows installation, in all probability running RegCure and CCleaner registry tools have now made it impossible. http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?t=28099 - registry cleaner thread Back up your data to an external drive (use a Linux Live CD like Knoppix if you can't get into Windows) and do a clean install/restore to factory condition of Windows. If you can't do the work yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea), take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad).MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
