Your credentials did not work.
When attempting to remote into my Laptop and/or Desktop over my home network (wireless router) I am getting an error message saying, "Your credentials did not work". Both computers are running Windows 7 Enterprise edition, freshly installed and updated. I get the same error message on both computers. I have successfully remoted into both computers via Windows 7 using the router before, but since the reformat I've started to have this issue. The computers are able to share files via Homegroup without any issues. Both computers are password protected at startup. No virus protection software on either computers. No special firewall software. Both computers have remoting enabled and I have "Everyone" listed as an authorized group. My password is 6 characters long and I am not making a mistake typing. I have restarted both machines. Please help! I'd love to use the default remoting tools. Msoft, please don't push me into the arms of VNC! lol

Please temporary disable the antivirus and firewall on both computers. If the issue still occurs, please let us know if you have installed the certifications for Remote Desktop. If so please remove the certifications and reinstall when you try to connect via Remote Desktop. 1. Click Start, in the Start Search box enter “mmc”.2. Click File->Add/Remove Snap-in.3. Add Certificates for “My User Account”.4. Find the certificate which is issued to the other computer. By default it is installed in Intermediate Certification Authorities\Certificates. Right-click and choose All Tasks->Export, save it as a backup. 5. Remove the certification.Arthur Xie - MSFT
