Your computer can't come out of hibernation
I left my 8 year Toshiba all night on, with Windows 7 running. In the morning the computer was off and I powered it on. Then this message appeared:Your computer can't come out of hibernation.Status: 0x0000411Info: A fatal error occurred processing the restoration data.File: \hiberfil.sysJust powered it off and on again, and then asked me if I wanted to delete and continue or just try again. The new try did not work, so I pressed enter to continue. The computer looks ok now, changing desktop images and whatsoever...Event viewer does n't show a lot of info about it, mas something happened here. The default to sleep is 360 minutes.Any one has the same problem? Not a big issue but weird not recovering from hibernation. Adelino Araujo

I got the same message with my desktop PC. However the computer was running with a black screen and the lettering in white. I had pressed the sleep button on my keyboard and found the above mentioned message when I returned a couple of hours later. This happened twice now.I have now turned off the hibernate mode so that the computer is only to "sleep" with the push of the sleep button or after 15 minutes and hope this fixes the problem. (I noted that the system draws the same amount of power in sleep mode as in hibernation). Note that I have an SSD for my main drive.Error Message:Your computer can't come out of hibernation.Status: 0x0000411Info: A fatal error occurred processing the restoration data.File: \hiberfil.sysAny information that was not saved before the computer went into Hibernation will be lost.

My problem is the opposite - I am on a new Sony Vaio and it won't stay in hibernation. I tend to do this manually for overnight but even if the laptop is closed shut, it still starts up randomly sometime in the night. I also miss the facility on Windows XP which told you if there were updates in which case I would do full turn off. On the Windows 7 menu you have to choose 'shut down' or the other options without knowing if there are updates waiting. I do not wnat the whole hassle of rebooting everytime I need my laptop back on again.
