Yet another Thumbcache problem...
I tried to disable thumbcache generation in Windows 7 64bit by adding this to registry (following the tip found here: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/10794-thumbnail-cache-enable-disable.html ): [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] "NoThumbnailCache"=dword:00000001 The change took place which I confirmed with regedit.exe. To my surprise the thumbcache_xx.db files are still being created in the thumbnail folder C:\Users\UserNAme\AppDat\Local\Windows\Explorer Am I missing something? What should one do to disable thumbcache creation for sure? Cheers, Gregor

Hi, The Thumb cache files are not only used for Thumbnail cache, it is also used for the Windows icon, so you can't let them disappear in that folder. Thank you.

Ok, but the problem is, that whenever I access my Foto folder or movie folder this thumbcache files grow in size, it means that thumbs are still generated and stored in. My guess is that in scenario with thumchache disabled, thumbs should be generated in RAM only, each time I access foto folders. Apparently this is not the case. Cheers and thanks for help, Gregor
