Yes! Thank you, Microsoft, for Windows 7.
My experience with Windows 7 has been excellent. Yes, there were a few issues. However, I did my homework, and made sure my hardware and applications were up-to-date and supportable (just as I did under Vista). This is the first step. Once one has accomplished this, the rest is easy. The install, the configuration for custom needs, the performance, the stability all are excellent. For those who insist upon using old or unsupported hardware, your best experience is to upgrade and create a supportable platform first. Yes, I know it is difficult to throw away or discard something that works, but it is old. Ask yourself how old Win98, WXP, and even Vista are now. Things are changing quickly. For those who want to dwell on the past and keep those old pieces of hardware and software, your experience may not be positive. So, spend a little bit of money to upgrade your hardware. And, spend a little bit of money for a supported application rather than going cheap and installing every free application that you can find. Stop searching for some hacked driver from some unknown site. Stop downloading programs from some source that has no phone number or physical address. Set yourself up for a current, supported environment, and your experience will be excellent as well. Doc
