Xbox 360 wont connect to my Toshiba laptop so I can use it as a media server and play my movies through the xbox
I have tried over and over and over again but everytime It just says cant connect to computer try shutting the xbox 360 down and try again, obviously iv tried doing what it says but with no help. Ill talk you through the step by step iv done. Ran media center on the xbox and on the laptop ( the spec by the way is ) Toshiba Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU Q720 @ 1.60GHz 400Gb RAM 64-bit operating system - wireless router is a Belkin N Modem Router Part # F5D8633ukFA. When the xbox prompted the 8 digit ref I enter write that down then enter it on the Toshiba latpot, the laptop then runs through the process of talking to the extender and trying to connect and initializing files etc and then when it gets to the last part of the connections it just hangs for minutes and then the xbox says the xbox 360 could not connect to the pc. turn your xbox off then on again and try reconnect, iv tried doing what it says with no avail, I have been though all the trouble shooting on microsoft and forums and everywhere, I have even rung microsoft themselves and then went through processes adding stuff to my laptop config and the last on they asked me to do I hade to hang up and if it did not work to ring them back but I got so fed up I didnt bother. I have even added the below Application Protocol/port Direction Network svchost.exe UDP 1900 Inbound Local Subnet svchost.exe TCP 3390 Inbound Local Subnet svchost.exe TCP 2177 Outbound, Inbound Local Subnet svchost.exe UDP 2177 Outbound, Inbound Local Subnet system TCP 10244 Outbound, Inbound Local Subnet ehshell.exe TCP 554 Outbound, Inbound Local Subnet ehshell.exe UDP 5004, 5005 Outbound, Inbound Local Subnet ehshell.exe TCP 8554-8558 Outbound, Inbound Local Subnet ehshell.exe UDP 50004-50013 Outbound, Inbound Local Subnet ehshell.exe UDP 7777-7781 Outbound, Inbound Local Subnet mcrmgr.exe Random Outbound, Inbound Internet mcx2prov.exe Random Outbound, Inbound Internet One thing to make sure you all know, my laptop connects wirelessly to the xbox and it shows the xbox in devices and printers in network and internet but whenever I run through the windows media center setup it just wont connect to the laptop but its on the home network. Iv even tried this with a wired connection and that gives the same fault, iv even tried with windows firewall switched off. Please I beg you can someone please help me with this so that I can watch any movies on my laptop trough my xbox, the huges thanks in advance to anyone who has the knowledge to sort this one out for me. Thank you all

1. What happened when you disable firewall on Toshiba computer? 2. Here are prerequisites for XBOX and router http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live/connecting/network-ports-used-xbox-live 3. If noting helps, use network monitor to pinpoing the "bottleneck". Regards Milos

Hi buddy, why you watch movies on ur laptop trough ur xbox, in fact, you can view movies on ur laptop on television via a AV cable ... P.s. Some Xbox360 users who do not have a DVD player, then they need to use Xbox to play DVDs or copy DVD to Xbox 360 for viewing on TV.
