XP pro: Can't access files as User, only as Administrator
I was running out of space on single hard drive, so I rebuilt XP pro machine with larger second drive, copied all my old folders of music, photos, documents, etc onto larger drive, used smaller drive for OS.I want to logon as User, but be able to access/change/move all those folders and files on larger drive...currently I can only do that as Administrator. I want others in the household to be able to logon as Users and have same priveleges...but not be Administrators or Power Users or be able to install programs. Especially not be able to install programs! Is it normal to be unable to access those files as a User? I have W2K systems setup that way which work fine...is something different about XP? Does it have something to do with the files being previously on different system? Ownership issues? I can get around it by sharing every single folder with all network users, but isn't that a security comprimise? Someone please help! Thanks :)2 people need an answerI do too
