XP is connected to wireless network but cannot get online....
I have a wireless network that works fine with my laptop and desktop if its booted in Mac OS but when i boot to XP it can not get online. It sees the network and tells me I am connected but IE and Firefox keep posting error messages telling me they can not connect. If i click the repair icon under wireless network connection settings it would loop forever in the searching for IP address box. I figured out how to manually enter the IP and now the error is in clearing the DNS cache.I have also tried the set up wizzards, and messed with different service settings but still no luck. Does anyone have an idea of what i am doing wrong or what needs to be done to get this connected to the internet? Why is windows so difficult? my macs hooked up just fine with little effort.I am so frustrated. Please help1 person needs an answerI do too

If you are connected your computer should be able to connect to the Wireless Router menus, and have a valid IP (169 .xx.xx.xx is not a valid IP).http://www.ezlan.net/example/lan_details.jpg-------------------Maybe this can Help, http://www.ezlan.net/wireless.htmlAlso make sure that the security software on you system does not block the connection.Jack-MVP Windows Networking.
