XP Slow Shutdown
About a month ago (~Oct 1/10) I noticed my computer was taking about 5 minutes to shut down or restart. Boot up is normal. When I shut down, the message "Windows is shutting down" stays up for about 5 minutes.I also noticed that fast user switching is not working even though it is enabled.I checked the system event log, and each time I boot up, the following error is recorded:" The following boot start or system start drivers failed to load: TermDD"I ran a boot log which recorded multiple entries of:"Did not load driver\systemroot\system32\drivers\termdd.sys"Also, under device manager, the terminal server keyboard driver, and terminal server mouse driver have yellow exclamation marks.I'm running XP Home SP3 with current updates.I have done malware scans with several programs and nothing comes up. All other functions appear normal.Any suggestions would be appreciated.1 person needs an answerI do too

Now move on to Steps #2 and #3.In the meantime, you can answer all of the following questions by number in your next reply:1. What anti-virus application or security suite is installed, when (approx. date) did you install it, and is your subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)? What third-party firewall (if any)?2. Has a(nother) Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on the computer?3. Did a Norton or a McAfee free-trial come preinstalled on the computer when you bought it? (Doesn't matter if you never used or Activated it.)4. When (approx. date) did you install SP3?~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) ~ MS MVP (IE, Mail, Security, Windows & Update Services) since 2002 ~ Disclaimer: MS MVPs neither represent nor work for Microsoft
