XP Product Key
I bought a new Dell PC in '06. The unit crashed on me and brought it to a repair service I found on Craigslist. When I received the pc back not only did the person lose about 4 years worth of files he supposedly changed the product key. The computer again does not work at all and is asking for me to insert the XP disk. One never came with the computer when I bought it and now this guy does not return my calls and I am afraid I have a bootlegged XP software in the computer. Any suggestions. I need to get up and running again I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT COMPUTERS OTHER THAN USING THEM ONCE OPERATING. JUST A WARNING. LOL1 person needs an answerI do too

Is this reportable? Isn't this piracy? I hate getting screwed over after paying the guy. Such is life I guess. I just want to know if you think a threat to report him might help

LOLTo properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop -http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )Once saved, run the tool. Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report. To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response. The tool will show whether you have anything to worry about - and what options are available to deal with it if there are. -- Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC | The Three-toed Sloth
