XP Pro CPU unable to access the share folder in a Windows 7 Network
I am making a new Windows 7 Professional network. I've set up a Workgroup to allow CPUs with XP Pro to access the network. I can see the share folder in my Windows 7 network via the CPU running XP Pro. But I cannot open the folder. I attempt to login with an administrator user that is the same on both the Windows 7 computer and the XP Pro. I've check permissions on the Windows 7 and I believe it allows everyone to share. I'm not sure how to work though this problem.

Hi, Before going on, I would like to check what kind of error message was received when trying to open the share folder? Can you access the shared folder via \\IPAddress\Shared_Folder? Meanwhile, please try the following: 1. Temporarily disable the firewall and anti-virus program to check the result. 2. On windows 7 client, I suggest you change the following security option: Right-click Let Everyone permissions apply to anonymous users, and then click Properties. To enable anonymous users to be members of the Everyone security group, click Enabled. Hope this helps Vincent Wang TechNet Community Support
