XP Mode- Networking options
Need some help troubleshooting this issue please. I am running Win7 Pro 32-bit. I have successfully installed WindowsXP Mode and Virtual PC. Under the Virtual PC networking options I am trying to set up the bridged connection option instead of the NAT option(adapter 1). After doing so I open the XP-virtual machine and set the static IP on the network adapter along with subnet mask , gateway, and DNS addresses. However, I can not get the internet to come up on the pc or access anything on the static network. The NAT option works , but I have some apps that I need to run that don't work on that option. I have successfully done this on my laptop, but cannot seem to get it to work on the desktop PC- an HP DC5800. The HAV says it is compatable. please help!

Hi If you have a Router. Start the XP-Mode pull down the Tools/Settings point to the Network adapter and choose the network adapter of the host as the Network choice. Then configure the TCP/IP to auto obtain or to a static setting of the same subnet as the Host computer. Otherwise explain how your Internet Connection and the computers are configured. Jack, I am trying to get it to work on a Business LAN. We use static IP's and Cisco routers and switches. It does work on a Laptop that I use, but I can't get the same option to work on the HP desktop.
