XP Home log on screen does not show user accounts - can't proceed

Hi Justd15, Thank you for taking the time to post. I do have a couple of questions for you. 1. Is there any type of messages on the screen? 2. Changing from standby mode will remove user Do you mean after entering standby the users are removed from the login screen? Try to access Safe Mode by tapping F8 on boot. Do you have access to accounts here? If so enter the Safe Mode desktop and try a System Restore to a time when you last could get to your desktop. I'm having the same problem. Can't login on Safe Mode either. When the computer boots, the blue windows screen comes up which used to have an icon to click. The icon is no longer visable in any mode. I can't get my safe mode command prompt to give me the prompt either. Help!

1)Try hitting CTRL-ALT-DEL twice quickly. 2)If that does not work, try booting with F8 key, in Safe Mode first and login as Administrator.
