I have a Show Desktop icon in my XP Quick Launch area which is usually to the right of the Start button. Here is how to do it and answer your other questions too:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/190355 Right click the new Quick Launch icon and Rename it something appropriate like:Show DesktopThere is nothing mysterious about the QL area - it is just a collection of regular XP type shortcuts in a regular folder where you can browse to with Explorer and add/modify/delete shortucts ans QL buttons just like anything else. Everybody has one! Things in the QL area are just one click away. For me, my Quick Launch folder can be browsed and maintained here: C:\Documents and Settings\Jose\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch The Show Desktop is a little different being a shell command file (.SCF) If you don't see the Quick Launch area, right click the Taskbar, Properties and enable the Show Quick Launch checkbox. If the QL area gets cluttered with things you don't ever use, just right click the item and chose delete, or delete the items from the QL folder. Do you really think suggestions that begin with the words try , might or maybe are going to be helpful?I need YOUR votes and points for helpful replies and Propose as Answers. I am saving up for a pony!

two methods: Give Hotkey Function to Desktop.cpl or put Quick Launch. I prefer later since hotkeys can be properly given to Excel or Wod docs.
