XP DIAL UP ISSUES
I have issues with compuserve dial up- the tech support tells me that either i need to update my modems driver. or i need to contact microsoft and get new dun/ras files. dun/ras (dial up network--remote access service) is either corrupt or not installed correctly. is there and way i can download from Microsoft dun/ras program or file-?? needed to connect to the internet using a phone modem. each time i use msn or CompuServe to connect to the internet the modem dials- connects- and freezes at the point of communicating with network. CompuServe tech support tells me you at microsoft may have the solution.1 person needs an answerI do too

Update your modem drivers first. Get them from either your computer mftr.'s website for your specific model computer or from the modem mftr.'s website. If that doesn't work, then the computer may be infected or the modem may have failed. There is no way to tell from here based on the information you've provided. http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware You can test the modem by querying it from Control Panel>Modem>Diagnostics (am going from memory here since I don't have any computers with modems). You can also test by calling the modem from a cell phone using HyperTerminal.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
