XP Corrupt user profile. Copy files to new profile. Access denied
I have been using my Administrator profile as my working profile. Recently, my profile became corrupted and I have set up a new administrator profile. However I am unable to access my old files or emails within outlook.Instructions I have found explain how to copy one user profile to another when logged in as a third administrator.I have followed these instructions, however when i try to highlight the files in my old (corrupt) profile i get the error message that access is denied. It also tells me that the folder is empty when i know it is not. I get the same result if I try to do this from any administrator account. HELP !! 1 person got this answerI do too

Halima, Thanks. My old corrupt profile just shows one folder for documents and it is this folder which access is denied to. I have not had any better luck using Safe Mode Boot either.Any further advice would be gratefully received.Kevjmc

Sorry no easy answer appears to be there. The following site is a Utility I've used to backup the .PST Folder AND I keep it on a backup hard drive and a USB. Never needed it so far but it's there. While I don't understand all of the Outlook Files/Folders uses without Googling, I've made, too, copies of the relevant files in [C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook ] and [ C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook ].Maybe an overkill but worth it to me. Here's the PST Backup Utility Site:.............................http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=8b081f3a-b7d0-4b16-b8af-5a6322f4fd01&displaylang=en
