Hi, I am having problems accessing a XPPro Pc. It shows up in the Vista network map after I installed the LLTDIO driveron the XP PC but not in the network and it is still not accessible. I added my IP range as trusted zone in my firewall (Eset Smart Security)at both machines. Hi, Thank you for your post. Is the Windows XP using simple file sharing? To address the issue more efficiently, please temporarily turn off the firewalls on Windows Vista and Windows XP first. After that, please capture netmon on both Windows XP and Windows Vista machine by using the following steps: 1. Download Netmon3.1 from:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=18b1d59d-f4d8-4213-8d17-2f6dde7d7aac&DisplayLang=en#filelist 2. Install Netmon3.1 on both machines. By default install to <%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Network Monitor 3> 3. Run the following commands in Command Prompt (Run as Administrator) to start Netmon3.1:cd /d %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Network Monitor 3nmcap.exe /Network * /Capture /File %SystemDrive%\%ComputerName%_Repro.cap:100M /DisableConversations 4. On Windows Vista, type to following command to access Windows XP:net use \\192.168.1.101 5. After the issue occurs, press Ctrl+C to stop capturing Netmon 6. Capture the output and error code to me. (If Windows XP is accessible, the output will be The command completed successfully.) 7. Hi Sander, Thank you for your response. Based on the output displaying The command completed successfully, the Windows Vista should be able to access the Windows XP. Thus, I would like to double confirm the following two IP addresses with you: 1. Is IP address of Windows Vista 192.168.1.100? 2. Is the IP address of Windows XP 192.168.1.101? Additionally, based on the netmon capture file, there is not any network packet send to/receive from the machine (192.168.1.101). As a result, I suggest performing the following steps: 1. Please confirm if we can access the share folder on machine (192.168.1.101) from the machine (192.168.1.100) 2. If the issue persists (cannot access the Windows Vista machine), please start netmon again on BOTH machines. (Please type the command on BOTH machines so that we can start netmon on both machines, because we need to capture the network packets from both sides.) 3. After netmon is started on BOTH machines, access the share folder on machine (192.168.1.101) again to reproduce the issue. 4. After the issue reproduces, please capture the error message to me and press Ctrl+C to stop capturing Netmon on both machines. 5. After that, please upload the capture files to the space.
