If your PC has only one processor core you will see really huge differences. If you have at least two processor cores and enough memory, so that the Win7 and WinXP machines need not resort to paging the differences are nectlectable in everyday use. I have often 3-4 virtual guest machines running on my Win7 64 Pc without noticeable performance hits. What applications do you use, that don't work in Win7? I have several 15 years old applications, which still work under Win7. And if you have Win7 32-bit you can run almost all MSDOS applications, without big changes. Of course in Win7 64-bit you are out of luck with any 16-bit program. Wolfgang
