XP, Start, All Programs - doesn't respond/hangs or extremely slow
I'm running XP Home SP3 on my laptop. When I click on Start, All Programs, it can go out to lunch for MINUTES ...I'm running Msft Security Essentials and Comodo, so I don't think its a virus.I've tried several fixes. I changed a registry setting for MenuShowDelay from 400 to 0. Also installed and ran TweakNow RegCleaner. No change. My program menu is pretty full, its 4 columns wide. What else can I try?2 people need an answerI do too

Other programs seem to run normally.I ran Spybot and Ad-Aware.I tried creating a separate Admin user but it was inconvenient because so many settings and files are under my orig user.

I booted into safe mode and did a system restore. The problem persists.

If it did then your old Profile is corrupted and best if you copied the data from it and transfer the settings to the new one by following the info on this KB article:How to Copy User Data to a New User Profile: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;811151nass -- http://www.nasstec.co.uk
