Workgroup computers drop connection in xp service pack 3
I have tried nearly everything but with no permanent results.I have a windows xp machine (SP3) that i use as a file sharing machine.I have 3 pcs networked to it via wirelsss router (win7, xp, xp)I can boot up the xp machine and see all the pcs in my workgroup...but after a varying amount of time each time...the connection to the workgroup drops.I have tried a couple of microsoft fixits...i have tried all the normal stuff..enable netbios...etc...nothing works. The thing that is working is a hack...i have the xp filesharemachine contantly pinging the other machines on the network and then the connection never dropsany thought son a better fix? 1 person needs an answerI do too

check to make sure they are all on the same workgroup and all have common user names and passwords.under services, check the computer browsing service is set to automatic and started, try restarting the computer browser service (on the file share machine) if the connection fails.
