Wondering about the SMB Remote BSOD Issue with Vista and up.
http://seclists.org/fulldisclosure/2009/Sep/0039.html This seems to be a critical issue, and was wondering how microsoft was responding to it, or if anyone here had any other information about it. Basically... A malformed packet sent to a machine running SMB 2.0 can cause the machine to BSOD. To prevent, close SMB feature and ports, until a patch is provided. Windows Xp, 2k, are NOT affected.

Hi Mika,There was an Advisory published heresome days ago, it contains all the infomation you require about which Operating Systems are affectedand what steps youcan takefor mitigating this bug, alsothe seclists report is incorrect about Windows 7 being vulnerable. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/advisory/975497.mspxSteven
